Shooting indoor track and field is always a challenge. There is nothing friendly about it. It seems like absolutely everything is stacked against you. Despite maxing out every last setting on your camera and your lens, you're still blurring much of the action.

But, if you're patient photographically, some good things begin to happen. I selected several my favorite images from today's Martin Luther King, Jr., Mile-High Classic to share them with you. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed shooting.

Pole vault typically produces the best facial expressions of a meet, but the timing of capturing those expressions is another deal altogether.
