Several of Colorado's open athletes converged on the Joe Davies Open at Steinhauer Field House Friday and Saturday, but. of course, the big event this weekend was the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque.
In the Duke City, Laura Thweatt found herself in the unenviable position of de facto rabbit for most of the 3000 meter race. Thweatt closed out her indoor season with a 9:30 and a sixth-place finish.
Jeremy Dodson and Joe Morris both moved from prelims to semis of the 60, but only Morris advanced to finals, where he posted a very nice 6.52, which may be a new PR for the Golden High School graduate.
Bethany Praska made finals of the 800, but ran a slightly better time of 2:03.35 getting there. Meanwhile, Katie Mackey scored a 5th in the 1500 with a time of 4:16. Mark Husted missed making finals of the men's 800 with a 1:50.
