Those who had meets scheduled on April 5 got a better deal, weather-wise, than those who had meets scheduled on April 4, but it was a busy weekend of high school track and field action any way you look at it. Not only was it busy, but the level of performances--and Saturday's performances in particular--was just simply jaw-dropping. Take a quick read below and see if you don't agree with me.
Durango's Alli Davis continues to impress, winning the 200 into the breeze, winning the 400, winning the long jump, and taking second to Taylor Strohecker in the high jump. For the record, as of Saturday, Durango now has three long jumpers at 16 feet or over, and Gabi Razma took her triple jump all the way out to 36-2. Depth could still be an issue for Durango, but there's a lot of high-end talent on this team.
