It's not exactly that the Lions of Lyons are an endangered species, but it is a school of choice in Fort Collins that is taking serious aim at closing the gap on the Lions.

But, as reigning perfect-score state champions who lost only Marcel Such to graduation, Lyons get the right to the first review. Paul Roberts and Joel Such are juniors this year. Roberts owns a couple of state titles already, and Such owns a couple more state medals. Matt Dillon, a senior who finished 11th at state last fall, figures to slide into the third and final scoring position. It's difficult to find a meaningful weakness here. And, so, we'll give Lyons the nod as regional (and more) favorites.
