Small schools were busy all around the state--and a little bit outside of the state--over the past week. Here's your weekly glimpse of the highlights for the past week of action:

3A Metro League Cross Country Meet

For what is probably the first time in the memory of anyone reading this article, they hosted a 3A Metro League meet without Holy Family. Mapleton long since bit the dust. Silver State never had cross country and long ago left the 3A Metro (and if the school still exists, they are no longer a CHSAA member), Denver Lutheran closed doors a couple of years ago, Denver Christian moved down to 2A several years ago now. Machebeuf, Holy Family, and Kent Denver were about all that was left, but even Holy Family is gone now.

So, it was somehow fitting that Kent Denver contributed a girls team ...
