We travel over to the Western Slope for the first of our regional previews. I'll get as many of these done as I can, but I am pretty sure I won't be able to get through the whole collection.

A glance over the landscape of 3A Region 1 suggests this region is the domain of Gunnison. For the last two years, Gunnison has been a young team getting older, stronger, and wiser. They're a long way toward those ends now and have been dominating 3A cross country in the western half of the state this fall. To be more precise, the only 3A team Gunnison has fallen to all season long is Alamosa. And, in that respect, Gunnison has a lot of nice 4A and 5A company.

Beating Gunnison will mean taking on the Cowboys' depth. And that is a tall order. Only Bayfield is able to match Gunnison three sub-18s in Cooper Wiens, Brand...
