With the Colorado State Cross Country Championships looming on Saturday, it’s time for some serious analysis of what we can expect to see on Saturday. But, if you expect me to take this completely seriously, you don’t know me all that well yet.
We’ll start with 5A, and we’ll go with ladies first.
5A Girls Teams
1. Monarch – It’s tough not to take Monarch as your favorite. Monarch has methodically rolled everyone they’ve faced this season, and they haven’t dodged anyone. If there’s an Achilles heel here it would be the 5-6 gap. At last week’s regional race, the gap between Monarch’s 5 and 6 was nearly a minute. While Monarch may have some margin here, they don’t have that kind of margin. The usual scoring five of Bent, Mann1, Mann2, Lookner, and Hogan must be on top of their races, no exceptions.
