On Saturday, while most of the state's distance talent put a final stamp on the cross country season in Boulder, Colorado's speedsters and field competitors gathered in the Cadet Field House to give us another glimpse of what 2015 holds for track.
The Air Force High School Indoor Open attached a large amount of talent scattered across the state as well as high-level competitors from outside the state lines.
Most notably Norman Grimes of Canyon, Texas. Grimes bested the best the region had to offer indoors in three events: the long jump (21-11), the 60H (7.86), and the 400m (49.26).
Grimes's 60H shaved a tenth of a second off of the existing meet record. For this performance, meet administrators awarded Grimes the track athlete of the meet award.
