Paige DeGolyer spent a lot of time running 3200s this spring, a convenient little fact which should pay dividends in her cross country times for Alamosa this fall.

We'll take it as a newsworthy development if anyone is able to oust Alamosa from the top spot in the league this fall, even though Pagosa Springs returns a very solid team.

Alamosa - Do not be misled by the fact that Alamosa comes in second in the virtual meet scoring shown above (an outcome influenced heavily by the different regional races run by these two teams). Alamosa finished with 91 points at state last fall to 170 for Pagosa Springs, and both teams lost exactly one scoring runner by graduation. In the entire track season, Pagosa Springs had two girls record a rankings 1600 time and only one girl record a rankings 3200 time. Compare that to Alamosa's six and two. The Mean Moose bring back a mean (not to be confused with average) corps in Tara and Emily Sowards, Paige DeGolyer, Brianna Molina, and Brittany Lopez.
