Taking a hard look at the 5A Boys state race this coming Saturday means, first and foremost, taking a hard took at what Mountain Vista did at their regional race this past Friday.
Not only did Vista Nation post a perfect score on their region but, adding insult to injury, they got their sixth runner in before anyone else's first runner as well. And, that 18-second pack time ranged from 15:44 to 16:02.
That's not going to happen at state, of course, but a stern message was sent nevertheless.
So, let's take a walking tour around the regions and see what other teams came close to putting on the same kind of regional dominance that Mountain Vista did.
