Take a deep breath, folks. The Great Southwest Classic Indoor is starting to take its place among the big-time indoor meets.

The meet has struggled to get traction, even in its own home state of New Mexico, but last night served notice that the Great Southwest Classic Indoor can draw with the best of them. And, it doesn't hurt of have a second-to-none indoor facility with a 200-meter banked Mondo oval, and the fastest generation of jumps runways known to man.

The action, and more especially the results, at last night's 2016 Great Southwest Classic Indoor left more than a few of us breathless.

The meet was still barely getting going when Norman Grimes of Texas pinned a 7.89 60 meter hurdles result to the wall. In his first (and probably only) indoor meet of the season, Grimes jumped to #7 on the national leader board.
