It was all Limon at the Class B/C State Track and Field Championships.
Carried aloft by new or tied state meet records from Don Bender in the pole vault (12-6), Howard Knapp in the 120 High Hurdles (15.1), Howard Knapp in the 180 Low Hurdles (20.2), and the mile relay team (3:34.2), Limon rolled to a most impressive 1962 Class B/C state track and field title.
The Badgers put up 48 points in all, nearly tripling the production of second-place Roaring Fork.
Tie-breaking methods in the high jump and pole vault will be introduced in coming years, as will the Fosbury Flop, polyurethane-coated track surfaces, and modern landing pits.
