HOTCHKISS - The sights and sounds of high school track and field were few and far between in Colorado this weekend. But, above the North Fork Valley of the Gunnison River at Hotchkiss High School, 14 schools fought through the elements to get in some early-season times, distances, and marks.

Athletes were treated to about every condition one can expect from a Colorado spring: wind, snow, sun, and sleet. The flag near the grand stands stood straight in nearly every direction at some point during the meet. Needless to say, there were limited mind-blowing performances, but still some quality marks to report.

One athlete unencumbered by the schizophrenic conditions was Delta's Lily Lockhart. The Panther junior set a meet record in the discus with a launch of 138-02. She shattered the record by 10 feet. It was her ...
