Weather is as weather does during track season. Nowhere was
that more on display than at Friday's Pomona Invitational. What is a meet
director to do when they have a two-day, 56-team extravaganza planned, and a
random spring storm threatens to eliminate the entire affair?
In this
case, the meet management at Pomona (at the suggestion of John Reyes) made what
looks to be a brilliant move in reorganizing the meet in to essentially two
track meets; a highly competitive top-flight meet on Friday before the four
snowmen of the snowpocalypse cross the stadium, and an everyone-else track meet
the following day, weather permitting.
Once you go to enough track meets at Jeffco Stadium, you
know that there are three distinct places to look to find out what the wind is
