What Would Classifications Look Like if CHSAA Moves to 1A - 6A?

Editor's Note: The spreadsheets below and on the next page were sent to me a few weeks ago by Dan Betz, head track coach at University High School in Greeley. I was very busy at the time he sent it, so I made a mental note to get back to them when things weren't so busy, then forgot about my mental note. Just last night it popped back into my head, so you're seeing them for the first time now. 

What you reproduced here is how the classifications would break out, based on the most current enrollment numbers available (these, obviously would change before the next classification cycle would begin--most likely numbers to be used in that case would be the October, 2017, enrollment counts) and on certain assumptions about which shows will field cross country and track teams in upcoming years.

The tables below and on the next page assume that track would go to six classificiations and that cross country could go to either five or six classificiations (probably five is more likely). No scenario, however, is a given at this point. The cross country and track committees would have to decide whether to expand the sports to five (or six) and six classifications, respectively, or keep them as they are. If they decide to expand, then the tables below show roughly where each school would land.
