2017 Ralston Valley Fun Run: A Big Day For 3A (updated)

Jefferson Academy's Christian Van Cleave breaks away from Sam Hitchens and Cole Sprout on the second lap of the 800.

According to the CHSAA bulletin, Friday was the first day on the meet calendar for the track season. With the state-sanctioned season set to conclude in May at Jeffco Stadium, it only seems appropriate that the season should begin at Colorado's cathedral of track and field.

With the wind gauges still in storage and no relays on the schedule, this meet was not one for state qualifying. At this early point in the season, many teams are still looking to shake off the rust and get marks on the usual glut of new athletes that have joined the team. It did not appear that anyone loaded for bear and showed their hands, but there were plenty of displays of early season fitness to be seen.
