You probably know last year's story here. Telluride overcame the loss of a couple of projected team members last fall and won another state title. Can they make it three in a row this fall?
Well, one way of getting at an answer to that question is to delve into the rankings of returning runners. We do that three different ways here. We look at last fall's rankings of returning runners, this spring's rankings of returning 1600 runners, and then this spring's rankings of 3200 runners. Each method has its associated benefits and problems, but, together, they give us a pretty decent look at what to expect for this fall, minus any glance at the impact of incoming freshmen.
