Top Girl Returners in Colorado Track and Field

The outdoor track and field season starts this weekend, and we believe it's a perfect time to review the key returners across the state. 

We have compiled a list of the top 100 girls returning in every track and field event this spring. You can also view below some of the key returners who are entering 2025 at the top of their game or who are eager to reach the top.

This weekend, we'll be at the CSU-Pueblo Early Bird to catch the first week of track and field competition with photos, interviews, and video.

Top 100 Girl Returners in 2025


Key Returners 

Heidi Nielsen (The Classical Academy): The defending 3A state champion in the 100m and 200m is the fastest returner in the 200m. She ran 24.08 in the 200m at the state championships to secure her 3A title.

Ellie Londo (Valor Christian): The defending 5A state champion in the 100m is also the top returner in the event. She recorded a time of 11.76 at the state meet to secure her victory and establish herself as Colorado's leading returner. Londo is also entering the outdoor season ranked number one in the 60m with a time of 7.58. 

Zona Welling (Heritage): The fantastic freshman who won the 5A 200m state title is now a super sophomore with the second fastest returning time in the event. Welling has had an active indoor season running CO top ten times in the 60m, 200m, and 300m. 

Abigail Trapp (Golden): Last year, Trapp ran the 100m, 200m, and 400m in the 4A state races as a freshman. She's entering this season as the top returner in the 400m and a top 10 returner in the 100m and 200m. 

Kiana Cumings (Windsor): She finished the 4A 400m state race last season in 55.70, earning runner-up and becoming the second fastest returner. Notably, she set PRs of 12.09 and 24.63 in the 100m and 200m after the state meet. 

Rosie Mucharsky (Denver East): Since running 2:10.57 to win the 5A 800m state race last season, Rosie Mucharsky went on to have a fantastic cross country season. Our top returner in the 800m qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals and Foot Locker Nationals. 

Mia Williams (Fossil Ridge): Last season, Williams won the Pomona Invitational 800m by running 2:12.25 to become the second fastest returner in the 800m. She had one of her best races after the state meet at Nike Outdoor Nationals, where she ran 4:52.53 in the 1600m. 

Addison Ritzenhein (Niwot): Last season at the Arcadia Invitational, she ran 4:40.78 in the 1600m to secure the spot as CO's top returner. She also ran 10:09 and 2:13 to cap off a creat sophomore season for the Northern Arizona commit. 

Keeghan Edwards (Mountain Vista): She's returning as the fourth fastest runner in the 3200m and 1600m in Colorado. Edwards is entering 2024 with considerable momentum after her 10:29.93 indoor 3200m performance at The Circuit Chicago. 

Ella Hagen (Summit High School): The University of Colorado commit is aiming to finish her high school career strong as she enters the 2025 season as the top returner in the 3200m. Hagen finished 9th at NXN in December and kicked off her track season with an indoor 2-mile at 10:19.57. 

Jade West (Niwot): West is the reigning 4A state champion in both the shot put and discus. She currently holds the top indoor shot put mark in Colorado this season, with a throw of 46-10.25 at the Texas Tech Wes Kittley High School Invitational. 

Jaylyn Kechter (Idalia): She ended the 2024 season with a 1A state meet record in the discus when she threw 137-08 . This places Ketcher as the second best returner. 

Zenobia Witt (Eaglecrest): Witt is the top returner in the long jump and the second best returner in the triple jump. She also played a significant role in Eagle Crest's 5A state championship victories in the 4x200m and 4x100m. 

Bradie Menegatti (Pueblo West): We have one more season of Menegatti jumping across Colorado and being a top contender in every event. Last year, she placed first in the long and triple jump for 4A and finished second in the high jump. 

Taegan Olson (Roosevelt): Olson vaulted 12-10 to start the season last year, and that mark stands as the top returner for 2025. The senior also enters the outdoor season as the reigning 4A state champion. 

Sylvie Harrison (Palmer): In the 4A state championship pole vault, Harrison competed against Olson to secure the runner-up position. She is coming into this season with a personal record of 12-2 and is the second-best returning pole vaulter.
