Lukas Haug had a nice freshman debut for Boulder on Friday.

There are a couple of limitations to this article that need to be owned up front.

One, something like a third of the cross country programs around the state were not even in action last week.

Two, we have no assurance that, for every program that was in action last week, we saw every freshmen in the program in action. Some freshmen simply may not have been eligible to compete (five practice rule) last weekend, some may have been some degree of injured and therefore left out of action, and no doubt a large number ran in the open races at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede without any formal record of their times being kept. There were also a few new athletes coming into the system over the weekend for which I got no indication of grade; likely many of those are freshmen, but we don't know that yet, and especially not yet with respect to any of the individuals involved.
