Lily Margolis jumped 17-7.25 at the Boulder Snow Invite for a huge new personal best this past weekend.
This week's Leap Of The Week is quite literal.
A year ago Boulder's Lily Margolis wasn't on anyone's long jump radar. Her lone performances in the event outdoors was 12-4 outdoors (she had gone 12-8 a few months earlier, indoors). But clearly, Margolis has been working to perfect her craft.
She added nearly four feet to her personal best during the 2018 indoor season, recording a best of 16-10.2 - and that was just a hint of what was to come outdoors.
Margolis hurled herself to a new personal best of 17-7.25 at the Boulder Snow Invitational, which was additionally the No. 1 jump in the state.
While we're only one week into the outdoor season, she's already added nearly five-feet to her personal best from a year ago. They say "the sky is the limit," but since we're talking about the long jump, I'll say the edge of the sand pit is the limit.
