The competition is always tough at Nike Outdoor Nationals. 2009 is no exception, but the select few of the Colorado athletes who made the trip to North Carolina are faring well.
The most favorable outcome of the day on Friday was a discus title for Mason Finley, although his 211-0 throw does not rank high among her personal best efforts.
Elsewhwere, the Thompson Valley 4 X 800 bettered their time from the Colorado state championship with an 8:58.34, but came up short of the NON title by one place--falling short to Jillian Smith and company who ran 8:52.80.
The highest other finish of the day for a Colorado athlete came in the two mile. Wes Rickman ran 8:57.84 to claim 6th in that event.
