ThunderRidge's Teagan Zwaanstra won the 100 (12.77) and 200 (26.63). Zwaanstra was second in the long jump (16-11.25) to her teammate Anna Hart (17-10.75) who also won the triple jump (36-08.5).
ThunderRidge's Kate Hill and Kacey Johnson went first and second in the 800 (2:31.61 and 2:32.13, respectively). Teammate Shae Henley won the 3,200 in 11:40.20. If it weren't for Chicago's Ava Parekh making a trip to Grand Junction to run a 5:16.49 in the 1,600, Henley (5:32.27) would have swept the long races.
On the boys' side, Dakota Ridge's Austin Vancil held off Durango's Aidan Fitzgerald in a fast 1,600 this early in the season (4:19.66 and 4:21.29 respectively).
The Western Slope wasn't short on talent either. Bayfield's Jordan Lanning is back as one of 3A's top hurdlers. She brought home a double win with 15.46 in the 100 hurdles and 46.84 in the 300s.
Grand Junction's Colin Morrison was the meet's only triple winner. He swept the hurdle races (15.04 in the 110s and 39.51 in the 300s) and he cleared 6-4 in the high jump for 30 points for the host Tigers. His teammate Kade Christensen swept the boys' sprints with 11.35 in the 100 and 23.18 in the 200.
