It was yet another packed weekend with some incredible performances across the board. Some squads sat this weekend out (Desert Twilight is coming!), quite a few others went to work on some of the bigger invitationals - there was shortage this past week...

Quick Takeaways: 

- Wow, watch out for that Niwot girl's squad come post-season... Lucca Fulkerson might not be eligible to compete at State next month, but Niwot's performance at the St. Vrain was very, very revealing about their post-season potential. They had a 12-second 1-5 split, and a 19:35 average (not including Fulkerson's fastest time of the day in the JV race) - on a tough course... By comparison, they averaged 19:42 here at last year's Region 3 Championships before going on to win State, qualify for NXN, and place fifth at Nike Cross Nationals. 

- Mckenna Mazeski is the real deal. Not that there was any doubt, but the Cherokee Trail freshman claimed the first big win of her high school career. And it's a big win because she ran away from a stellar field at the Dave Sanders Invite. On that note - Cherokee Trail just got a little more dangerous... 

- Grahm Tuohy-Gaydos hasn't exactly run on any fast courses - yet (Desert Twilight is on tap). But the Green Mountain junior picked up his fifth consecutive victory this past weekend, winning the D2 race at Dave Sanders. He's the 21st fastest runner in 4A so far, but winning is winning, and Touhy-Gaydos has figured out how to cross the finish line first.

And speaking of streaks...

- Alamosa's Lilly Lavier is now three-for-three. The Alamosa senior dipped under 19 again to win the Coronado Cougar Classic, while keeping her sheet clean. 

- And keep an eye on Rampart's Ben Conlin. Like Touhy-Gaydos he hasn't exactly run on any fast courses yet, but he's got two wins to his name this season, and two runner-ups. 

- Sierra Bower did it again. Another big win - this time an 18:33 victory over Durango's Madeleine Burns at the Ana Banana Invite. 

- Keep an eye on Emma Stutzman and the Pomona girl's squad. The Pomona freshman led her young squad with an impressive 19:16 victory at the Pueblo Central Invite, which also led them to the team title as well.

- Kenadi Krueger is revving up her engine. The Thomson Valley senior was the runaway winner at the John Martin XC Invite in 18:34.
