Three Predictions For The Season Ahead: 5A

Manson Rewrites The Pole Vault State Record

Mia Manson has been vaulting to new heights in recent months.

And I think I wrote this story before... About another Manson.

But it's true - Mia Manson has the opportunity to one-up her brother in her final high school season by rewriting the pole vault set record owned by Andrea Willis

Willis went 13-9 in 2016, and the record has remained in her name since.

But Manson showed that she's willing and able to reach such heights when she went 13-7 indoors just a month ago. The mark was just a quarter-of-an-inch shy of Willis' indoor best of 13-7.25.

Manson went 13-6 as a freshman, and clearly has re-found that form. She's got the experience and ability, now all she needs is two-and-a-quarter inches to claim the state pole record for her own.

Of additional note - she could be one of a very, very few athletes to win a state title in an event all four years of high school. Manson is a three-time pole vault state champ.
