With the oddities of racing continuing in 2020, the 3A Metro League split their meet into two separate days and today we saw the first installment with the girls taking on the course at Anthem Community Park.
The race covered four waves, but after the gun had gone off it was a one woman race as Peak to Peak's Allison Beasley broke away and never looked back. The senior covered the Anthem Park course in 19:25 and was clear of second place by 30 seconds.
In second place was Stargate's own Allison Pippert. Audrey Orstead of Faith Christian ran 20:09 and finished third.
St. Mary'sHana Husmannand Jefferson Academy's Maya Ross rounded out the top-5 with times of 20:31 and 20:37.
The team race wasn't close as Faith Christian scored 36 points en route to their second straight Metro League title. The 2-5 scorers for the Eagles finished 6-7-8-10 to go along with Orstead's 3 points.
In second place was Kent Denver who scored 75 points. They were able to drop their pack time under 2:00 and finished 23 points ahead of Jefferson Academy.
The boy's will take aim at the course Thursday afternoon. The first race wil go off at 3:00 with the second race at 3:30.
