Monday Morning Recap: Blazing At AAU Indoor Nationals

While Colorado was being pounded with several feet of snow, the show went on in Virginia Beach. A few Coloradans escaped before DIA canceled over 1,000 flights.

Camille Peisner made the most of her trip to the AAU Indoor National Championships in Virginia Beach, VA. The Valor Christian senior doubled in the 200 and 400. She captured her best finish in the 400 - finishing fifth in the finals in 56.68 - that's less than a second off her personal best in the event. The future Stanford-commit also finished seventh in the 200, running 25.19.

Tristian Spence had a great double as well. The Grand Junction junior ran 4:46 in the 1,500 to finish sixth, and 2:20 in the 800 to finish fifth. Both performances are big PRs for Spence.

Back in Colorado and before that white stuff from the sky started to stick and accumulate on the ground, the ATB 550 Pole Vault Gym Session #10 played host to another great competition in Louisville.

Freshman Lilly Nichols went over 12 feet for the ninth time in just over two months. Nichols won the competition with a 12-6.75 clearing. Anna Willis took second with a clearing of 12-1. Meanwhile, Becker Ell took the boy's title with a mark of 14-0.5.
