True Grit At The PPAC League Meet

While Ben Conlin was busy sweeping up in the distance events, Carsen Bruns was doing his part for Rampart in the hurdles and sprints.

The Rampart senior won the 110 hurdles in 14.77, the 300H in 39.92, the 200 in 21.92, and he finished second in the 100 in 11.14.

The duo of Conlin and Bruns tallied 68 of Rampart's 126 points.

Beau Freyler won the 100 in 11.05, and on the topic of the 100 - the 4x100 played host to one of the hottest races of the day - and it was hot.

Vista Ridge and Pine Creek took the 4x100 down to the line. Literally. Heading into the final leg Pine Creek held the edge, but Vista Ridge rallied hard to claim the event in a CO No. 1 of 43.35, which was one-hundredth of a second ahead of Pine Creek's 43.36 - a CO No. 2.

In the field events Brandon Hill continued to impress. The Vista Ridge sophomore leapt to a 22-6 victory in the lone jump.

Meanwhile it took the name Elijah to win the high jump - Elijah Scott and Elijah Inama both cleared 6-3.

In the discus Alec Falk dominated the competition, claiming the event with a toss of 161-1, a 24-foot victory.

The team competition went down to the final events, though Rampart's domination on the track prevailed, as they tallied 126 points to win the PPAC League title. Pine Creek was a close second with 113 points, while Air Academy was third with 93.5.
