Flashback Friday: Jackson Fagerlin Wins Thrilling 3A 1600

Question: What's more exciting than a race that comes down to the line?

Answer: A race where a freshman running in his first state championships takes the title!

Barely a week has passed since the 2022 edition of the Colorado State Championships, but it's hard not to still get pumped up about it - there were a ton of incredible performances (many of which we have videos for!)

Jackson Fagerlin might have been running in his first state championship, but that didn't stop him from  achieving one of the more rare feats in boy's high school track and field - winning a state title as a freshman. The Resurrection Christian freshman won the 1,600 in a wild kick, running a PR of 4:22.79.

And as impressive as Fagerlin's feat was, add that a staggering eight boys broke 4:30.
