Mountain Vista Soars At The Dave Sanders Invitational

Tyler Downs is now two-for-two against top-tier competition.

The Mountain Vista senior backed up last week's St. Vrain victory by running away in the boy's D1 race.

What's additionally impressive is the fact that he ran 15:38.4 in the heat - the time is nearly on the nose with what he ran at St. Vrain last week (15:38.6.)

That's consistency...

Likewise, Benjamin Anderson took the runner-up spot here. The Mountain Vista sophomore ran 15:54, which was just five-seconds ahead of ThunderRidge's Evan Charkut, who dipped under 16-minutes, running 15:59.

Fossil Ridge's Cy Teruel was just on the other side of 16-minutes, running 16:01, while George Washington's Peter Neid and Cheyenne Mountain's Kaden Levings battled to the line, running 16:08, and 16:09.

Like the girls, the Mountain Vista boys came full-force in the team race.

Daniel Romalia and William Wachter finished just outside the top-10, finishing 11th, and 12th in 16:36 and 16:38, and Vista Nation closed the door with Jack Simmons finishing 14th in 16:40.

And just for good measure - their sixth runner Turner Christians was three-seconds and one-place back in 16:43.

Mountain Vista tallied 37-points to claim the team title. Behind them the team race went down to the sixth runner to separate second from third, and fourth from fifth.

ThunderRidge and Grandview both tallied 90-points, but it was ThunderRidge who took second with their sixth runner finishing nine-places ahead of Grandview's.

Likewise, Cheyenne Central and Fossil Ridge both tallied 128 points, but it was Cheyenne Central who took fourth with their sixth runner finishing 10-places ahead of Fossil Ridge's.
