Colorado Coaches Poll: September 29

We're wrapping up September, and rapidly running into October - the latter half of which is Championship Season! We've got the latest edition of the Colorado Coaches Poll.

Editor's Note: The Colorado Coaches Poll is comprised of a dozen coaches across the state.

5A

BOYS | GIRLS

Quick Take: The Mountain Vista boys leapt over Cherokee Trail in the latest poll following their dominating victory at the Dave Sanders Invitational

On the girl's side Cherry Creek was a unanimous No. 1. They recently finished second (by one point!) at the Roy Griak Invitational.

BOYS | GIRLS

Quick Take: The Niwot boys have been stagnant since their runner-up finish to 5A No. 1 Mountain Vista at the St. Vrain Invitational, but that didn't change their position on top of the totem poll. But Cheyenne Mountain did gain a few points back to inch closer.

On the girl's side Niwot was a unanimous No. 1 following their victory at the St. Vrain Invitational, which revealed some new stars. Palmer made a big leap following their runner-up finish at the Coronado Cougar Classic.

Quick Take: The Classical Academy boys remain on top of the boys poll. Their recent 18-point victory at the Longs Peak Invitational showed that they're only getting stronger each week.

Likewise, the TCA girls have taken over the No. 1 spot after a big victory over 5A No. 7 Fort Collins at the Longs Peak Invitational. The big story here is the Liberty Common girls, who climbed multiple spots in the latest 3A Rankings.

Quick Take: If this week's poll is any indication of what's coming, we've got a tight boy's team race on tap! St. Mary's, Heritage Christian, and Colorado Springs Christian were all within a point of each other.

On the girl's side Heritage Christian retained their spot on top of the rankings.

Introductions: Banning Lewis soared into the latest rankings on both sides!
