Blazing At Liberty Bell

To say that the Liberty Bell Invitational was exciting would be an understatement.

We got a glimpse into what's to come at this year's state meet... And it's not even May yet. There's a lot to look at here and lot's to be excited about, so let's dive in!

The girls 3200 was loaded with a new CO No. 1 time run by Isabel Allori of 10:28.69.

Allori has made quite the name for herself so far this season. The Liberty Common junior is currently ranked US No. 6 in the 3200 with her time of 9:56.82 from the Arcadia Invitational. She will be someone to look out for at the state meet.

Ava Mitchell placed second in the event, running a new personal best of 10:38.23 - a CO No. 3 time, and it makes seven girls who have broken 11-minutes this season.

The 800 saw some big marks - a staggering thirteen girls posted sub 2:20 times. Helen Carlson secured the victory, running a CO No. 5 time of 2:14.15.

Right behind her was Chloe Johnson who clocked 2:14.74 to place third, a CO No. 7 time. This is a huge personal best for the Douglas County junior.

Grace Moroney placed third with a time of 2:15.49. Moroney is currently ranked CO No. 3 with her time of 2:13.67 from the Randall Hess Invitational.

Rosie Mucharsky and Lindsey Kiehl placed fourth and fifth, posting times of 2:15.59 (CO No. 9) and 2:15.95 (CO No. 10) - both personal bests.

Moroney, as well as Mitchell, also both competed in the 1600, posting impressive times. Moroney won the event with a time of 4:59.95. Mitchell placed second, running 5:00.54.

The two are currently ranked CO No. 5 and CO No. 6.

Zane Bullock had herself a day. She competed in the girls 100 and 200, winning both with two new personal bests.

In the 100, she clocked 12.45. In the 200, she ran away with a huge personal best of 25.08 - this is good for a new CO No. 4 time.

The 300 hurdles saw some impressive performances. Kendall McCoy secured the victory while posting a new personal best time of 44.47 - a CO No. 2 mark. This is her third consecutive win of the season.

Ryan Kennett wasn't far behind, running a new CO No. 3 time of 44.71 to place second.

McCoy also bettered her own CO No. 2 mark in the 100 hurdles - she won the event clocking 14.44, another personal best.

Air Academy High School threw down an incredible 4x800 time of 9:16.95. This time is not only CO No. 1, but US No. 14.

Luka Knott threw a huge personal best, 128-0, in the discus. She is now CO No. 4.

On the boys side, we saw impressive performances all around.

Joseph Ciccio had himself a day winning the 100, 200, and 110 hurdles.

He ran a CO No. 2 time of 10.60 in the 100 to take the win. This is the junior's sixth consecutive win of the season in that event.

In the 110 hurdles, Ciccio came back for his second win of the day, throwing down a time of 14.65. Karamoko Sacko placed second in 14.90. The two are currently CO No. 2 and No. 3.

Ciccio clocked another personal best in the 200 with a time of 21.57, putting him at CO No. 5.

Chase Nelson and Isaak Easley are now CO No. 6 and No. 7 after placing second and third behind Ciccio. Nelson clocked 21.70 while Easley ran 21.77.

We saw a stacked field in the 1600 - Corbin Hobert took the win, clocking a new personal best of 4:20.67. He is now CO No. 7.

Right behind him at CO No. 5, Shalom Trowbridge placed second also running a personal best of 4:20.72. Austin TiceBrady Hill, and Luke McAlenney placed third, fourth, and fifth, all running personal bests as well.

Trowbridge also took the win in the 800 where he ran a new personal best of 1:54.88. Hobert placed second, clocking 1:55.09.

Similar to the girls, the boys 3200 was stacked with many impressive performances.

Porter Middaugh took the win with a time of 9:18.11 - a current CO No. 4 mark.

Will BrunnerBenjamin Anderson, and Brogan Collins placed second, third, and fourth, all running new personal bests and placing themselves in the CO top-10.

The 400 was something special -Zachary Ryan and Ace Malone both dipped under 48. Ryan threw down a 47.33 to take the win, while Malone clocked a 47.83. They are CO No. 2 and No. 3.

In the 4x800, Estes Park ran 8:00.75 and is now CO No. 4. We also saw impressive performances from Boulder High and Northfield, who are now CO No. 6 and No. 11.

Miller Jones threw down in the triple jump. His jump of 49-3.2 not only has him sitting at CO No. 1, but US No. 3. This is Miller's fifth consecutive triple jump win this season. Osita Agbo was the runner-up here with a 48-2 mark for a US No. 10.

It was a very exciting day for these athletes as they gear up for the state meet in a few weeks!
