The REAL JV State XC Championships On Tap

This November, REAL Training is hosting 3 events to extend the racing season, provide opportunities for track PRs, and keep athletes race sharp heading into important championship events. Each race takes place on a Wednesday.

First up is The REAL JV State XC Championships + All-Ages XC Relay event on Wednesday, November 1st. The headliner 5K races are the boys and girls JV State Championships. Each high school program can run an unlimited number of JV runners as teams and individuals battle each other for JV supremacy.

Runners will run two loops of a challenging all-dirt/grass course. The asphalt crossings will be covered so the course is definitely spike-friendly. Roll Recovery and Hoka will provide awards and raffle prizes.

There's also a fun All-Ages XC Relay. That event will feature two-person teams with each athlete running one 2.5K loop. There are multiple divisions: elementary school, middle school, open male, open female, and open coed.

Next up is the combined Team Boss Colorado Mile + 2 Mile 4 REAL on Wednesday, November 8th. This one's perfectly scheduled as a great tune-up event between the State meet and NXR. It's your choice of Mile or 2 Mile events under the lights on the speedy Niwot High School track. Many athletes look to the 2 Mile as an opportunity to run 5K sea level pace leading into NXR, RunningLane, and NXN. The event also provides a timely opportunity to PR at the Mile or 2 Mile distances while runners are XC fit and ready to roll.

The Team Boss Colorado Mile is a fundraiser for the Sachs Foundation. The Sachs Foundation provides college scholarships for Black and African American students in Colorado. Local pros, including Team Boss athletes, will pace the middle school and high school mile races!

Colorado's own Aisha Praught-Leer (pro runner and co-event director) said, "Team Boss is looking forward to our third mile race benefiting Sachs Foundation! We were inspired by all the high schoolers showing off their cross country fitness and fearlessly following professional runners in search of a new personal best. Join us this year to be paced to fast times by current and future Olympians, fundraise for college scholarships for Black students in CO, and have fun with your favorite pros!"

Roll Recovery will provide race prizes!

The final event is the Turkey Mile 4 REAL on Wednesday, November 22nd. Keep your holiday wide open with a fast Mile the day before Thanksgiving! Step on Niwot HS's fast track for a PR attempt or a tune-up for NXN, RunningLane, or USATF Junior Olympics. It's a great chance to take advantage of all your XC fitness late in your season.

Roll Recovery and Niwot Market will provide race prizes!
