A year after finishing fifth, Aiden Le Roux claimed the 4A state title...and did so in record-breaking fashion.

The Cheyenne Mountain senior set a new all-classification course record of 15:02.09, the fastest time ever run at Norris Penrose, surpassing Parker Wolfe's four-year standing record of 15:10.40.

Let that sink in.

This was just his second appearance at the state championship in his high school career.

Looking back, Le Roux had a stand-out season, winning all but one of his races.

His only loss came at Nike Portland XC, where he finished fourth in an impressive 14:50.00.

In the weeks followed, he secured the 4A Region 5 title, running 15:28.28.

He then triumphed at the Warrior Lincoln Park Classic with a remarkable 14:45.47 personal-best victory.

Le Roux entered the 4A Colorado State Championship as the favorite and left with the title in hand.
