Jonas Scudamore gave us a hint as to what we'd see at State back in April.
The Denver East junior ran away off a hot pace in the 3,200 Friday night at the The Pomona Invitational.
Scudamore torched a 9:16.84, which at the time led the state.
The performance was a three-second victory over Coronado freshman Oliver Horton, who ran 9:19. Additionally, it was an eight-second personal best for Scudamore.
He went on to slice four more seconds off that, running 9:12 at the Colorado State Track and Field Championships to finish second.
