Congratulations to Reese Kasper of Niwot High School for winning last week's poll! Remember to get your votes in for this week before Midnight on Friday, March 28! Here are the candidates for this week:
Annalina Torres, Legacy High School: Torres ran to a new personal best at the Broomfield Shootout after a good weekend on the indoor oval. She ran 55.96 in the 400m, winning the event and earned the top spot in Colorado.
Zona Welling, Heritage High School: Welling has run PR after PR the past couple weeks, but she is the first girl this season in Colorado to break the 12 second barrier in the 100m, running 11.99, and it is still very early in the season.
Payton Meineke, Riverdale Ridge High School: Moving down to Texas for the distance festival, Meineke ran a Colorado-leading time of 10:28 in the 3200m, but the even more impressive stat was her 1st place finish in the very competitive field.
Brooke Schimdt, Wiggins High School: Schmidt has been incredibly consistent with the discus, throwing another mark over the 130 foot range. This past weekend, Schmidt threw the discus out to 133-2, which currently leads Class 2A, and she is #2 in all of Colorado.
Kaylee Ellsworth, Chaparral High School: Also taking advantage of an out of state meet, Ellsworth ran at the Pine View Invitational in Utah, where she ran to a new personal best time of 5:03 in the 1600m. This time bumped her up to #1 in Colorado in the event.
