Currently, Byers High School may just run away with the state title. They have a healthy 50 point lead over Holyoke making it a race for 2nd. However, let's take a closer look at the rest of the rankings.
Right now, Byers has a strong sprint core with Ben McPherson and Quincy Eacret. Both are ranked incredibly well in the 100m, 200m, and the 400m. Most likely these two are a part of Byers' relay teams, which are all in the top spots as well, minus the 4x800m relay. Obviously, Byers will have to make some sacrifices in terms of figuring out what they will do with McPherson and Eacret with their individual events, but the team does have some cushion.
Plus, their jumps squad is incredibly talented with McPherson in the lead for long jump and Cameron Eastwood and Caleb Eastwood both scoring in high jump. Cameron is also ranked well in the 110m hurdles. Overall, this squad is looking very good going into May, but they will have to make those aforementioned adjustments for their ...
