Niwot High School is also leading on the boys' side, however, the scores are much closer and the gap much more feasible for Thompson Valley High School to sneak up on Niwot and take the victory.
For both these teams, their strength is on the distance side, which could make the race for the team title even more interesting if some of the Thompson Valley athletes can finish ahead of Niwot.
Currently, Niwot has a handful of athletes scoring in the 1600m, including Quinn Sullivan, Hunter Robbie, and Cole Mazurana. For Robbie and Sullivan, both ran their personal best times in the 1600m at sea level, so though Sullivan has the top spot in the 1600m, he will still have his hands very full with the competitive field in the 4A division. The same goes for Ryder Keeton in the 3200m. He is currently ranked 2nd, but it will take a fantastic race from this group of distance athletes for them to score all of the points they are projected to score.
