For the girls, there really is no way of stopping Delaney Reuter of Eaton High School. With a cross country season best time in the 5k of 16:42 and a track PR of 16:25, Reuter is almost two minutes ahead of the next girl on this list. She is also the 2nd fastest returning girl in all of Colorado, so she may be almost impossible to take down, especially because of her consistency and ability to race hard, even by herself.
What is interesting about this list is the string of Classical Academy girls in the 2-4 positions. Vivian Jack, Ellie Askew, and Joy Ahnfeldt all ran times of 18:19, 18:20, and 18:33 and all of those PRs were on Colorado soil. For Jack, she comes into the season riding a lot of momentum, placing 2nd in the 1600m at the state track and field meet and breaking the 5-minute and 11-minute barriers in the 1600m and 3200m. She also placed 3rd overall at the state cross country meet last season.
