The 45th Annual Arapahoe Warrior Cross Country Invitational kicked off September 2 in 86 degree weather. 46 teams attended the event in Centennial’s deKoevend Park.
As most people expected, Fort Collins won the varsity boys race (121 points) with scoring runners in 3rd (John Patterson), 5th (Tait Rutherford), 6th (Griffin Hay), 50th (Seth Knighton) and 57th (Rory Schulte) places.
Before the race, Fort Collins coaches Craig Luckasen and Peter Thrasher stated that “although it is too early in the year to predict, and many teams are not running their varsity, Lewis-Palmer, Arapahoe on its own course, and Cherry Creek could present stiff competition."
