Tabor Scholl lives in a 2A town, but West Grand High School doesn't run cross country. Consequently, Scholl goes across half a county to run for Middle Park High School. It seems likely that every mile of that high altitude training paid off on Saturday afternoon.

Two girls from The Classical Academy, Shelby Stableford and Regan Mullen, made a contest out of what many were writing off in advance as a rout. Scholl's 18:37 beat Stableford by slightly less than eight seconds. Both times ranked in the top five of the day in all classifications. If you missed this one, you missed the tightest girls' race of the day.
