No more waiting, the CHSAA outdoor track and field season for 2012 is underway. On one and the same weekend, basketball held its final hurrah (look for several of those athletes adding to team rosters this coming weekend) and track fired its first shot.
And what a shot it was. It wasn't difficult to find great performances, even on a weekend that's more about shaking off rust than about finding the sweet spot.
Temperatures were passably warm and winds passably calm (except in Elizabeth and Fort Morgan), making for a glorious day for both spectators and participants alike. But, let's get to the meets and discuss the hightlights of each one as we go.
