March isn't usually like this. We saw a lot of performances this weekend that were more reminiscent of mid April kind of times and distances than mid March. We'll see what it all means come May.
You probably should visit the rankings board on your own, but I wanted to take the opportunity to point a few things out. Bearing in mind that we're only two weeks into the season and I'm still waiting on results from two rankings meets on Saturday, consider what we know has taken place:
1. No less than eight boys have already thrown the discus over 150 feet. And Daniel Weirich has yet to take his first throw in competition this spring.
2. Four boys 4x400s went sub-3:30 this last weekend.
3. Tony Carodine and Scott Carter figured to push 50 feet in the triple jump sometime this season, but they got perilously close this weekend.
