Well, it's mostly fast and furious this weekend, but there are a couple of grinders thrown into the mix.

Let's start with the grinders. This week's meet most likely to turn your legs into hamburger is the Ridgway Invitational in the state park by the same name. Ouray serves as the host school for this meet. The state park is located between Montrose and Ridgway. The climbing and descending is relentless. And, the meet brings in schools of all sizes. So far, the largest school I know of that's coming is Fruita Monument. This one goes on Friday.

Another grinder is just up the road a piece. But Hotchkiss doesn't need a state park to make for a grinder of a course. They run on the Dobies, non-descript and mostly barren hills out back of the school. There's a citizens race if you care to share in the pain of your son or daughter. Last year, there were about ...
