Boys US #3 Albuquerque Academy beat a fantastic field Friday night in the mountains of Colorado, at the Liberty Bell Invitational. Competing against many of the top teams in the region, in the greatest invitational of the weekend, the Red Army took command of the race early and often, placing their top seven runners in the first twenty spots. The highlight individual efforts came from Ben Johnson (Sr., Albuquerque Academy) and Kevin Williams (Sr., D'Evelyn), with both runners eclipsing the magical fifteen minute mark.
Around the nation this weekend, top teams and individuals take to the cross country courses at some very big meets. West of the Mississippi, the Liberty Bell Invitational in Colorado showcases seven ranked teams, including boys US #3 Albuquerque Academy. East of the Mississippi, the Hartford Cross Country Festival in Connecticut, will highligh the top boys team in the country, Danbury, CT, as well as a handful of potential Foot Locker qualifiers. This is one big weekend for high school cross country!
