Exchange Zone Judges
800m Medley: Steamboat (1st), Telluride (2nd)
800m Relay: Central/Durango (1st & 3rd)
400m Relay: Palisade(1st), Fruita (2nd), Rifle (3rd)
Athlete Workers
In an effort to have plenty of help at each field event, we are asking that each team provides 2 helpers at each field event. The following is a list of team worker assignments:
Long Jump: Thursday-Rifle, Roaring Fork. Friday-Dove Creek, Mancos, Palisade
Triple Jump: Thursday-Steamboat, Cortez. Friday-Delta, Durango, Fruita
High Jump: Thursday- Telluride Friday-Dolores, Caprock
Discus: Thursday-Central. Friday- Montrose
Shot: Thursday-Fruita. Friday-Moffat
Please let me know via email (dustin.giesenhagen@d51schools.org) if you cannot fulfill this request.
Entry Packet
Each school will receive a packet at the coaches meeting that will contain coaches information, 2 heet/flight sheets, and a meet schedule
Hospitality
Dinner will be provided for coaches on Thursday night. Bagels w/cream cheese, doughnuts, coffee and juice will be provided on Friday morning.
Scratches/Substitutions
There will be no additions or substitutions, please make sure that all entries are in and correct on MileSplit by the 8pm deadline on Wednesday, May 9th. Please inform the clerk and field event judges of any scratches.
Check In
All running events will check in on the north end of the infield under the canopy. Field events will check in at the event site.
Track Entrance/Exit
Athletes can enter the track through the gates at the South East and North West corners of the track. Athletes may warm up on the infield. Athletes who are not warming up for an event will be asked to leave the infield.
Results
Live results will be posted throughout the day on MileSplit. Results will also be posted behind the booth on at the finish line.
Coaches Boxes
Long/Triple: Flagged off section on the infield next to each respective runway.
High Jump: Flagged off section on the infield on the East side of the high jump runway.
Shot Put: Flagged off area east of the landing sector
Discus: Outside of the flagging.
Pole Vault: None.
We ask that all coaches stay off the infield until the 1600m relay on Friday. Coaches may enter the track through the same gates as the athletes ONLY to reach the coaching boxes. Only one coach per school in each coaches box please.
Field Events
Opening heights and minimum marks will be announced at the coaches meeting on Thursday. 9 athletes will qualify to finals in the field events.
Runnings Events
All runners will require a hip number to be placed on the left hip which they will receive when they check in. Prelims and finals will be ran in running events 400m and down, 8 will qualify to finals.
Scoring
All events will be scored according to NFHS Rules: 1st-10pts; 2nd-8pts; 3rd-6pts; 4th-5pts; 5th-4pts; 6th-3pts; 7th-2pts; 8th-1pt.
Awards
Award packets will be available in the hospitality room 15 minutes after the boys 1600m relay. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 individual finishers and plaques will be awarded to first and second place teams. Awards packets that are not picked up will NOT be mailed to you, please pick up your awards before leaving the meet.
