TRI-PEAKS LEAGUE TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Full Member Teams Competing: BanningLewis, Buena Vista, CSCS, Ellicott, Florence, James Irwin, La Junta, Lamar,
Manitou Springs, Salida, St. Mary's, and Vanguard. Atlas Prep will also be allowed to participate.
THIS IS A STATE QUALIFYING MEET. Since this is a qualifying meet, uniform standards will be adhered to according to National Federation of State High School Association Track and Field Rules.
ENTRIES: Limited to three entries in all individual events and one entry per relay.
Entries will be done on Colorado Track XC (http://co.milespilt.us). You may enter your athletes starting now with the deadline being Thursday, May 5th at noon. We will send out heat sheets Thursday night by 7:00 pm. THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONS OR SUBSTITUTIONS AFTER THIS TIME ONLY SCRATCHES. Final heat sheets will be sent out Friday night by 7:00 pm. Scratches will be allowed at the line, but substitutions will not be allowed!
ENTRY FEE: $60.00 Per School - Please make checks payable to La Junta High School. I will settle all financials at the conclusion of the meet and report back to the league.
SCORING: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
COACHES MEETING: There will be a coaches meeting behind the pressbox at 10:00AM.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be given for places 1-8 in each event. A plaque will be given for the 1st place boy's and the 1st place girl's teams. Event first and second place finishers will make the Tri-Peaks All-League first team and third place finishers will be Tri-Peaks ALL-League Honorable Mention. For relays, the first place team will be the Tri-Peaks All-League first team and the second place team will be Tri-Peaks ALL-League Honorable Mention.
TRACK EVENTS: All track events will be timed finals based on seeding, no preliminary rounds. The last heat in multiple heat races will be the fast heat.
FIELD EVENTS: There will be three jumps/throws in the preliminaries and advance nine to the finals. The girl's
high jump will start at 4'4" and the boy's at 5'4". The bar will be raised 2" up to 5' for girls and 6' for boys, then a 1"rise after that. Shot and discus weigh-ins will be held in our metal track shed located on the Southeast side of
the football field. Weigh-ins will start at 9:30AM and conclude at 10:30AM.The throwing rings for shot put and discus are located on the Southeast side of the football stadium behind the metal track shed.

Absolutely no sunflower seeds are allowed at our facility
Team camps are allowed but we ask that no tents are set up that obstruct the view from the booth to the
different starting lines or finish line. Spectators will not be allowed on the infield. The check-in for running events will be at the middle of the football field. Field events will report directly to the event area. The throwing rings for shot put and discus are located behind the metal track shed on the Southeast side of the football field
facility.

We request the following schools to help with relay exchange zones:
1st Exchange Atlas Prep and Banning Lewis
2nd Exchange Florence and Lamar
3rd Exchange Manitou Springs and Salida
We will provide a hospitality room. We will have concessions available.
Chad Cosner and Woodland Park have graciously offered a league pole vault opportunity since La Junta does not have that capability. That event is scheduled for May 4th in Woodland Park and is on Milesplit. Chad sent out the information on that April 25th.
