High school girls cross country doesn't get much better than it is here in Colorado. It's been crowded at the top for several years now and doesn't figure to get any less so this year.
There's no better place to start this year's article than with last year's champion, and that would be Monarch. Despite battling some injuries and fatigue going into the state meet, the Coyotes were able to pull it out for the second year in a row. It wasn't a pretty state meet, but a great team finds another way to win when "pretty" isn't on the day's list of possibilities. Monarch is a great team.
