2A Region 1 and 2A Region 2 are the big 2A regions. We'll take a look at 2A Region 1 first. To get things rolling here, it's probably a good idea to take a quick peek at last year's regional results:
From that we learned, in case you didn't remember, that not only did Lyons run the regional meet on their own course, but they owned the region. It is true that the Lyons boys only won by one point over Wiggins, but the brothers Such were missing from the Lyons lineup that day. When they were back in the lineup for state, nobody was within sniffing distance of Lyons. Let's go as far as to say that there were not a few 3A schools who were very glad that Lyons' enrollment fell under the 3A cutoff at the beginning of the last cycle.
