It's a college meet, so we expect the collegians and the open athletes to win the events. The high schoolers are just there for the experience, or not.

Three high schoolers stole event titles. And two of those event titles came in the mile run.

The women's mile wasn't even close. Tabor Scholl didn't so much as bother to bid farewell as she dropped the field on the first turn. The entire field, including her own mother, was powerless to reel her in. Scholl would end up winning in 5:17, 31 seconds ahead of second and the nearest collegian.

The men's mile was far more interesting and did at least have a collegian leading the race for one of the six laps. The first half of the race belonged to Luke Yeager. The rest of the field was content to let the Faith Christian senior hammer out a pace as they waited to see if he'd be able to ...
