I don't know how emotionally attached Tara Mendozza might be to her all-classication girls 800 meter record for Colorado, but this might be the season she may want to start thinking about detachment. When you look up-and-down the list of long-lasting records, this one seems the most endangered for 2014.

So, let's break this down by classification and see at least a part of what we can expect this spring.

Jordyn Colter returns the best time and is the defending state champion. In my book, that's good enough to make her the favorite going in. But it's also a case of favorite, yes, and done deal, no. For one thing Colter, has other irons in the fire, and that's always an issue when the state meet comes around. For another thing, the competition she's up against isn't exactly weak.
